Ahmed Khan, the director and choreographer known for his innovative dance moves, recently shared the captivating story behind the creation of the iconic Dhan Te Nan hook step from Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey.

The high-energy song, picturized on Shahid Kapoor and Chandan Sanyal. It wasn’t initially choreographed in the typical sense instead, the actors were encouraged to create their own spontaneous moves.
However, at Vishal’s insistence, Ahmed Khan did create one signature step for the song. Khan’s revelation provides a glimpse into the creative process that made the song and its dance so memorable.
Ahmed Khan recently shared an interesting story about the iconic hookstep of the successful track. He said,
“I was inspired by the fighting sequences of the 80’s films. Amitabh Bachchan Sir and Vinod Khanna ji when they used to do particular action scenes that is how their hands and movements used to be which was very interesting. When you go to a disco the movements are very impromptu by the audience dancing there, and I wanted to have that exact vibe in the track.”
Ahmed Khan has some of the most popular tracks from Rangeela, Satya, Ghajini,Kick and many more to his credit. Khan is yet to start the marathon schedule of his much awaited movie Welcome to the Jungle.
It will be shot in picturesque locations of Abu Dhabi,Dubai. The shoot of the movie is scheduled to kickstart soon.
