After a long wait and struggle, Kangana Ranaut’s directorial debut movie Emergency finally hit the theatres on January 17, 2025. According to the industry tracker website Sacnilk, though the movie opened low, it managed to secure the highest opening for Kangana Ranaut in five years. Emergency Day One Box Office Collection
Kangana Ranaut’s directorial opened at Rs 2.35 crore on Friday, i.e. its first day. However, in comparison to other solo releases of Kangana Ranaut in the five years, the film’s opening was the highest. The movie was released nationally on 2500 screens. Kangana’s 2023 release Sarvesh Mewara earned Rs 1.25 crore on its first day while her 2022 released action film Dhaakad grossed Rs 1.20 crore on its first day at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the overall Hindi Occupancy on Friday was 19.26%. The movie attracted more people for night shows followed by evening, afternoon, and morning shows.
As per Sacnilk, here’s the occupancy of the movie on day one:
Morning Shows: 5.98%
Afternoon Shows: 13.95%
Evening Shows: 20.86%
Night Shows: 36.25%
As predicted by Sacnilk, the movie is expected to gross around 0.15 Cr India net on its second day.

Kangana Ranaut’s directorial ‘Emergency’ is a political drama in which she is seen playing the role of Indira Gandhi. The movie is focused on the 21 months of emergency from 1975 to 1977.
