The IT department’s sleuths are conducting simultaneous searches at the offices and residences of Telangana Film Development Corporation and movie producer Dil Raju in Hyderabad on Tuesday, 21 January.
The officials are also searching the offices of another production house Mythri Movies and the residence of Naveen Yerneni, producer of Pushpa 2: The Rule.
They are also conducting simultaneous searches at multiple locations, including the residences of Dil Raju’s relatives.
Media reports further indicate that 55 teams are carrying out searches at over eight locations, including Dil Raju’s residences and Mango office in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, along with the properties of his brother Shirish, daughter Hanshitha Reddy, and other relatives.
The reason for the IT raids is yet to be known, and further details are awaited.
Dil Raju is a prominent movie producer who, along with his nephew Sirish and other relatives, heads the production house Sri Venkateswara Creations.
He was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation by the Telangana government.
The producer had recently headlined two major projects in Telugu, which were released for Sankranthi.
One is a high-budget, “pan India” project Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, and directed by Shankar. This film underperformed at the box office, contrary to expectations.
Meanwhile, his other release Sankranthiki Vasthunam, a family entertainer starring Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary, directed by Anil Ravipudi has been doing well at the box office. The makers recently also announced that the film had entered the ₹100 crore share club.
