Ace filmmaker Mozez Singh, known for his nuanced storytelling, has built a distinctive career with critically acclaimed projects like Zubaan and Human, where polished scripts, planned shots, and large production teams were the norm.

However, stepping into the world of documentary filmmaking with Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous was an entirely new challenge. With no fixed script or predetermined path, Mozez had to embrace spontaneity and trust the unfolding process — resulting in a raw, unfiltered storytelling experience.
He shared this personal journey on social media, captioning:

Working with a smaller crew also brought unexpected rewards. The intimacy of a lean team allowed for deeper, more personal connections — both with Honey Singh and within himself. Reflecting on the experience, Mozez said, “It brought me closer to who I am and made me discover a part of myself I didn’t know existed.”
Letting go of rigid structures not only pushed him to explore storytelling in its purest form but also shaped him into a more intuitive and flexible filmmaker.
While fiction will always remain a core part of his creative DNA, stepping into the documentary space has opened up a fresh perspective — one that’s made him a more instinctive, adaptive, and deeply connected storyteller. Sometimes, the most powerful stories are the ones that find you when you least expect them.
