SAIFFF aims to bring compelling narratives and diverse cultural perspectives to the big screen, showcasing stories rarely seen in mainstream cinema. In addition to film screenings, the festival will offer a series of engaging activities, including yoga, meditation, a Bollywood workout session, and a vibrant Bollywood dance party on Saturday night.
A Celebration of Film and Culture
Supported by Urban Asian, Khaasbaat, Groundgame Health, Sakar Trust, and Convergent Media, SAIFFF is driven by a passionate team of volunteers committed to promoting cultural diversity and creative expression.
Festival Director Hemant Dinkar shared that this year’s festival received a record number of submissions, with a selection of 25-30 films chosen by an esteemed panel of judges. The festival will welcome renowned Bollywood celebrities, including Aryan Vaid, along with 12-14 international filmmakers.
A highlight of this year’s lineup is “Dr. B. R. Ambedkar: Now & Then,” a documentary produced by Tampa-based Santosh Govindaraju. Screening on Saturday evening, the film explores the themes of liberty, equality, and social justice through the life and legacy of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
SAIFFF will also feature the National Award-winning film “Binodiini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan” by Ram Kamal Mukherjee as the festival’s closing night film. Mukherjee expressed his gratitude, stating, “This is a huge honor for me and my lead actor Rukmini Maitra. Our film’s journey beyond Bengal to an international platform like SAIFFF is incredibly special. I look forward to hearing feedback from audiences in Florida, as it helps filmmakers understand the universal language of cinema.”
